Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Firearm License Pro SA (flpsa.co.za), operated by Cape Town Firearm Training Academy (Pty) Ltd ("FLPSA", "we", "us"), collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Information we collect

To prepare your SAPS application we collect the information you give us, which may include: your name, ID number, date of birth, contact details, residential and business address, occupation, firearm and competency details, supporting documents you upload, and your application choices.

2. How we use it

To generate your SAPS forms and motivation letter.
To manage your account and provide support.
To send you service messages and renewal reminders.
To process payments and issue invoices.

3. Payment information

Payments are processed by PayFast. Your card details are handled by PayFast and are not stored by FLPSA.

4. Where your information is stored

Your information is stored securely using Google Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it.

Cross-border processing: our infrastructure is provided by Google, and some of your information may be processed or stored on servers located outside South Africa. Where this happens, the information remains protected by Google's security measures and contractual safeguards, and we only use providers that are subject to laws or agreements providing a level of protection comparable to POPIA, as permitted by section 72 of POPIA.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the Service — for example with our hosting and payment providers (Google, PayFast) — or where required by law. We do not submit your information to SAPS unless you expressly use a feature to do so; you submit your application to SAPS yourself.

6. Your rights under POPIA

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and object to certain processing. Email support@flpsa.co.za and we will assist.

7. Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
